US President Donald Trump has said that no Palestinians will be evicted from the Gaza Strip. However, he reiterated his plan to occupy the coastal enclave. He made this statement in response to a reporter’s question in the Oval Office on Wednesday (March 12). Trump said that no one is evicting any Palestinians from Gaza. Irish Prime Minister Michael Martin was also present in the Oval Office at the time.
Meanwhile, according to a report in the US media outlet Washington Post, Israel’s far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said on Sunday that Tel Aviv will open a new ‘Immigration Authority’ office under the Defense Ministry to forcibly evict Palestinians from Gaza. This plan also has the support of the Trump administration.
Referring to the Palestinians in Gaza, Bezalel said that various officials in the Trump administration have repeatedly told me that we will not let two million Nazis live here. Not long ago, it was forbidden to talk about people who left Gaza.
The Israeli finance minister denies the existence of the Palestinian people. He said that Israel is currently working with the US administration to determine which country will accept the Palestinians who were forcibly displaced from Gaza.
President Trump made this comment about the Palestinians in Gaza after the Washington Post published this news.
It is worth noting that in February, Trump proposed to remove the Gazans from their homeland by occupying the Gaza Strip and resettling them in Arab countries. His plan has been widely criticized in various countries around the world. Many have called it ethnic cleansing.
